My rank is corporal, I am also a scribe.
Was never able to enlist (I wanted to as a kid). Don’t meet the minimum physical requirements (proper circulation in my case).
I deserted the army, in Germany its compulsory, i don’t believe in war. A view months later i got diagnosed sz. Imagine there is war and noone goes there.
When I was in the Air Force I made it to an E-4, senior airman.
I’m a civilian now though.
I never was in the army, cause I said I didn’t want to. (they prioritize those who want)
My father was a naval commander and my uncle was a major in the marines.
I didn’t go into the military though my father really pushed me to.
I made it to SK3 in the Navy during my first 2 year enlistment. Then made SK2 or E5 in the reserves.
I went back in the Marines as an officer and was a Major O-4 when I got sick. Would have made LtCol or O-5 but my promotion was held up when I got diagnosed.
Thank you for your service. The underequipped country to your north appreciates being able to share your umbrella.
Thank you sir!
Wow, I joined in 2002, actually signed my contract 4 days before 9/11 happened in 2001. I was in until 2006. It was a very scary time in the world.
I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.
My family is military. My great grandfather served in England during World war 1 in a blimp, my grandfather was in the navy during the Korean War, my father was in the navy during Vietnam, and my nephew joined the marines. Very proud of all of them. Thank you all for your service.
My father got commissioned as a lieutenant, but soon switched to join the Foreign office. My grandfather was a sergeant during WW1.
Dad, granddad and great-granddad have all held various ranks in the army. I’ve never fancied pursuing a career with the military.
sorry to hear that.
