Both. Iāve always followed high fashion and world fashion trends from a very young age but Iāve also always dressed different. (I was very goth starting in grade 2, before that I refused to wear girl clothes)
i would always wear different styles in school (punk, harajuku, nu goth, fairy kei and other kawaii Japanese fashion trends, sometimes preppy but think Blair Waldorf from gossip girl, 90s rave) and I would never wear something boring (no jeans no boring clothes)
I would wear my own sort of school uniforms even though our school didnāt have a uniform policy. I would also special order fashion magazines from Japan and Paris. And stay up all night during different fashion weeks watching hot couture runway shows on my laptop.
For some reason dressing different has always been a part of my identity. I used to want to be a model (alas Iām a shorty) to this day I canāt wear anything that plain if Iām going outside.
Even though Iām shy and I donāt like people really talking to me (social anxiety) for some reason Iām totally used to receiving all the compliments I get when I go out.
I also studied fashion historically, and learned as much about Coco Chanel as I could. And in case anyone was wondering, no, I absolutely donāt have anything Chanel, itās extremely expensive. At this point in my life Iād rather eat good. Brands arenāt as big of a deal to me anymore.
I was a fashion design major before.
I dropped out though because I am not very fashion savvy and I felt very out of place among the other students.
I donāt have any self respect or financial independence. I wear the clothes my mother buys for me. Normally I look pretty cool and adult.
my oldest wanted to do pageants, modeling and such. not only the cost but i was told she had no chance since sheās petite.
believing that was unwise of me. she could have done hair products skin, and especially shoes ads. i tried to encourage her to work for free so she could fulfill that dream. she did cheer and such.
my point is, without the stage, the world would be boring. actors, singers models, and all such have a niche. she does have a site, but itās a travel thing and mostly for fun. i think i dislike being photograped so much that it fueled her inclination toward it.
anyway i hope you both can fulfill that desire in some way.
Jeans and t shirts for me.
Someone just told me yesterday that bell-bottom jeans went out of fashion. Can I still wear my Leviās vest and tank top?.
