Do you follow fashion?

Or do you prefer to just have your own style/way of dressing?

It seems that fashion trends change like the weather.

And a lot of things I see models wearing I would look terrible in with my body type.

I prefer to just do my own thing when to comes to deciding what to wear and how to present myself.

Today I am wearing all thrift store clothes. I am comfortable

I’m a Wrangler jeans and T-shirt guy. Nothing fancy. Oh, I would never wear Levi’s at their ridiculous prices.

I saw a pair of Levi jeans (a pant) for $70. Also, they don’t have my size (40X29). I need a special order which cost more.

70 is pretty steep, I’ll admit.

Some raw denim/designer jeans can run over 200 dollars.

Have you tried Zappos or Amazon for your size?

No, but I wear $13 Wrangler jean shorts all-year round down here in Florida.

Good suggestion, though.

I definitely don’t follow fashion and I feel bad about this. But, I don’t know how to change this without looking foolish.

I find a lot of videos on YouTube useful in regards to what’s trendy and in style.

I watch them with a passing interest.

It’s kind of fun to see/hear what other people are into.

Plus it’s nice to know what fashion rules I am breaking.

Then there’s fashion magazine, GQ is a popular men’s one.

I think Vogue is the women’s equivalent.

No I don’t. If it is a special occasion I will dress up, or if all my friends are going to dress up for something then I will dress up too to not be the odd man out. But other than that I do not care at all and would wear only pajamas 100% of the time if socially acceptable. I like loose and comfy clothing. I don’t even wear makeup, it’s bad for my skin & irritates my eyes.

My mom hates how little I care and always buys me nice clothes only for me to never wear them. Over time she learned my must be loose and comfy rule and now tries to get me fashionable clothes in that area. She’s compromising :joy:

That’s cool though that you do your own thing @Anna.

When I was younger I was in a mean friend group that would bully me and nitpick me constantly over it, so I became obsessed w my appearance and looking fashionable all the time. I had rules like I could only wear my hair up once a week, I’d brush my hair between classes and fix my makeup, at sleepovers I’d wear my makeup to bed. Horrible. When I got out of that environment I reverted and am very comfortable with myself again.

My style depends on what’s going on.

If I’m at home, I wear sweats and man shirts (like the button up kind),

If I’m out, I’ll try to look decent, but I wouldn’t say I’m in style by any stretch.

However, if I have to go around family, especially my sister, I have break out my fancy clothes and look nice.

She works in fashion and I don’t want to look like the short, fat sister in all the family pictures…

I try to be less cruel to the underpaid laborers by wearing old clothes.

I wear jeans and nerdy t-shirts, and I don’t care if they’re old or supposed to be men’s t-shirts.
I sometimes wear feminine tops or long shirts, but nothing fashionable. I don’t mind getting my clothes at thrift stores, and I couldn’t care less about fashion.

I like following all the holiday hoopla in shops though I usually just buy something small when I go out. Like a Christmas smelling spray to go with the Christmas music. I’m not really materialistic but I find window shopping and following the changing seasons and events around town very fun. I feel having schizophrenia made me more interested in holidays.

i try to fit in. however it disappointments me when styles change and i have to buy new clothes.

women’s styles seem silly for changing. men’s pants that were in style 30yrs ago are still in style.
men seem less led astray by fashion designers/let’s make everyone want new stuff dudes. ’
