My new apartment building doesn’t have a vending machine with energy drinks in it, just 12oz can sodas. I haven’t had an energy drink since Wednesday, and I feel empty & down somewhat. Do you think it’s because I stopped energy drinks?
Do the energy drinks have a lot of caffeine? You could be going through withdrawals
Yes, they have caffeine, taurine, B vitamins, and sugar. I have been drinking some regular coffee though.
Then I’m not sure why you don’t feel well. Sorry
Thanks @LilyoftheValley 1515
I’ve never tried an energy drink before. Maybe it is possible.
I do drink coffee and a lot of tea and I feel a lot less energetic if I miss out on them, I don’t know if I would use the word “bad” but I definitely notice a difference…
But I am also on 1.5mg of clonazepam which makes me feel tranquilized all the time so I feel I need the caffeine to keep me going.
Thanks @Headspark
Energy drinks typically contain, as you said, caffeine, taurine, sugar etc. Many of them (for instance Monster), have an “energy blend” that can contain things like guarana, ginseng, ginko biloba, and so on. Not being a pharmacist, I don’t know what taurine is supposed to do for you, but guarana is a natural caffeine, ginseng, you need to be careful with because it can raise your blood pressure, and purportedly ginko helps your memory. What I’m driving at is that energy drinks often contain ingredients that you may not know the effects of, so you’re kind of *flying blind" when you drink one. I do drink them myself, that’s why I did the research, and I attempt to know what’s in the ones I drink. So caveat emptor.

I recently ordered powdered energy drink from the US. Its cheaper than liquid energy drinks. It has caffeine, vitamins, l-tyrosine, l-theanine, etc
No it’s because you are drinking sodas. Actually it’s because energy drinks contains lots of caffeine and possibly some other stimulants and you are going through withdrawal since they are addictive substances.
I ordered from the US bcz its cheaper than here in Canada, 44$cad vs 27$us (33$cad).
Yea there’s a short term with drawl
