Do you guys find yourself getting worse over time? Or are you getting better? I’m getting really worried about the long term trajectory of this illness.
I try not to worry about it. Take things one day at a time. I have my good days and my bad days – ups and downs are a part of this illness
Welcome to the forum.
I’ve been pretty much the same since I started taking Abilify about 9 years ago.
I have periods where I think the disease has “progressed” but in reality it turned out to be a bad patch.
Welcome to the forum
I need to active and I am not doing that.
Welcome to the forum! I have good day’s and bad, sometimes that’s just is.
Welcome to the forum! As meds get better i feel like I’m improving actually.
welcome. this is the right place to ask that question. for me, I was once very despondent and out of hope for myself as a schizophrenic. I finally worked it out with my psychiatrist to change meds and now I’m on generic prolixin (fluphenazine) and happily married and very happy now…there is hope…keep working with your pdoc.
My cognitive abilities have worsened
This comes with age and two psychotic breaks in 2016
Had this disease for 20 years. First ten I kept getting worse. Last ten have been a continual improvement.
I have been improving for the last 25 years. There is a bit of decline, but it is age related.
I feel like im declining. Hopefully its just a bad patch though.
I’m getting better over the time.
Welcome.
I feel like my life is getting easier in ways, at the same time med wise feel like i’m at square one. Always being switched and some really don’t tolerate. It is exhausting.
What is behind your improvement in the last 10 years?
Hey @sparkling89! Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us!
I’m noticing a decline in thought processes and in my ability to overcome fears and leave the house on my own. I wish I could at least not suffer from poverty of thought though.

My mental health has been improving the past few years I think because I’ve been taking Invega injections.
@shutterbug mostly
I’ve noticed an improvement over time. I think my 40’s on were better so late 40’s I’ve come down on my psych meds quite a bit. I’m bottomed out now as I’m as low as I’ll go but gradual improvement with age.
Uh, wait. Whut?
