I collect postcards, I have my mom’s old collection and mine. When I have kids they’ll collect postcards too. And my grandkids too.

Oh yes. I collect historical swords. I find them for cheap and restore them. I collect coins, old books, and hats. My father is big on collecting. He collects slide rules. Literally our entire house is full to the brim with slide rules…it is a bit chaotic here XD

My Uncle found an early Postcard of Yankee Stadium in his attic…probably from the 1940’s.

So he mails it to me and writes on it in BLACK INK!!! “Patrick, do you think this is worth anything?”

Uhhh…NOT ANYMORE!!!

I can’t believe he did that!

Although I have been reading on my kindle lately, I have a collection of real books. I probably have about a thousand or so. I have been reading and collecting them for about 20 years.

Used to collect hockey cards but it’s an expensive hobby, plus at one point I believed I had to throw them all away, the only ones to survive were the complete sets in binders

I keep people as pets.

No, wait I don’t do that at all. I really don’t collect anything, not really even possessions. As a kid I had more interests than I do as an adult though. I collected these metal model fighter jets for a while, I also just sort of had a giant book shelf where I collected, well, stuff, my possessions, kind of random. Only other collection I had was books in my early 20’s, kind of a weird reclusive phase, read a lot, but it was almost as if I was just hoarding books though. Had over a hundred, my family sold most of them to one customer at a yard sale after I’d moved out again. Grad student in sociology scooped up nearly the entire collection. Don’t really like to think back on those days. I was very awkward.

At one time I had a decent coin collection, but I pawned it for drunk money. Any kind of rare coin fascinates me. I don’t know why.

I did that with 200 dollars worth of gold coins

Ouch! That smarts.

I have a small coin and dollar collection. My oldest was a gift from an oldie–it dates back to the greek empire but is in pretty bad condition yet very cool!

That’s the kind of thing that fascinates me. I think if you got a job where you handled a lot of change you might find some rare coins, if you had time to go through them.

Yeah…one of the reasons I put my Aunt in charge of my disability money.

My father is like that…At his work, there is a vending machine and he basically takes ten quarters and feeds the machine them then gets it to return. Each time, he is looking for a new coin to collect. He never seems to notice the line forming behind him though…
