Do you guys/gals enjoy your antipsychotic? Most I have seen are complaining about side effects and such.
Personally I am liking it so far apart from the occasional muscle problems. It makes me feel calm, stable and nice.

yeah. ive been on this one before. more than once since 1998. but i couldnt remember how it was. it been about 3 weeks on it this time. so far not much side effects except sleeping less and getting my appetite back. its risperidone. the only thing i dont like is that it slows down my mind but probably to a more normal speed.

i like my antipsycotic (lurasidone) its the best antipsychotic i have tried so far.but everything comes with a cost which is the side effects.but every drug has its side effects so its not a big deal. i can handel it and live with it.

It’s ok (olanzapine). I have a feeling that I wouldn’t be able to find an AP that is significantly better. I’m lucky cause I don’t get hungry on it.

I’d still prefer to be normal lol… when I was normal I wish I had ADD. Explain that!

My ap (aripiprazole) is super duper effective and free of side effects. I really am lucky.

yes !! I am on generic prolixin…fluphenazine 10 mg twice a day and have been over the last ten years…so happy…no side effects…don’t even feel like i"m on an ap.

I think most people would say that they would prefer to not be on them if they had a choice. I am in this camp. But, they are certainly better than going into pscyhosis. And it’s good that we have them.

The side effects have lessened over time
The only big complaint I have with it’s use is sexual dysfunction that occurs with this med

I’m really happy about what Geodon and Seroquel do for me. They control my symptoms without turning me into a zombie. I’ve gotten good reports from other people who were on Geodon. It does have a couple of bad side effects, though. Like all the AP’s, they mess up my body temperature regulation mechanisms. I used to love to go backpacking, but that is out of the question now.
Pro for antipsychotics: the kill most of psychosis

This mean that meds dont repair the center but just switch off loads of the brain and then I cannot really think or be creative.
Im silently agre with all of the academic side effects caused by neuroleptic drugs.
Yes, it calms me down and numbs me. Without that is just chaos. Make bad decisions in psychosis or mania.

I do like my antidepressant and benzo.

ive noticed this too. not in the male way. but just noticed it is much harder to have an orgasm since starting it.

The typicals do that to me in a big way, but Geodon and Seroquel handle my symptoms without the brain deadening effect. For me they are wonder drugs. Some people have a little trouble with Seroquel, but I’ve only met about one person in twenty who didn’t like Geodon. Geodon has been around long enough that its price should come down.
No im on olanzapine and the weight gain is horrendous, I will lose weight though 100% gurranteed. It’s only thing keeping me for being well but abilify was my magic drug but it doesn’t help no more I get really bad if I take it such a shame because I love that antipsychotic to my heart. I’m not contempt on my olanzapine I wish I could be fine on abilify:(, olanzapine just makes me soooooo tired
