I read that they still use them in some cases to extract information from criminals. Before they used them in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
The drug does not itself force people to tell the truth, but is thought to decrease inhibitions and slow creative thinking, making subjects more likely to be caught off guard when questioned, and increasing the possibility of the subject revealing information through emotional outbursts. Lying is somewhat more complex than telling the truth, especially under the influence of a sedative-hypnotic drug.
To the best of my knowledge, they do really work. I’m not an expert on them but like you said, I think they work by decreasing inhibitions…the most famous being Sodium Pentothal (Truth Serum)
the KGB had used, in exceptional cases and mostly on foreign citizens, a soluble odourless, colourless and tasteless substance code-named SP-117, an improved successor to similar drugs used by the KGB prior, that was effective in making a subject lose control of oneself 15 minutes after intake. Most importantly, a person who would be given, consecutively, two parts of the drug, i.e. both the “dote” and “antidote”, would have no recollection of what had occurred in between and feel afterward as though he had suddenly fallen asleep, the preferable way to administer the “dote” being in an alcoholic drink as the latter would serve as a specious explanation of the sudden onset of drowsiness
I had one 30-day supply long ago of Seconal (secobarbital), a cousin to amobarbital. These are related to what many states in the US use in lethal injections. 20 minutes after taking, I was stumbling to bed. Wow. Had never had a bomb dropped on me like that before.
Hypnotherapy is a use of hypnosis in psychotherapy. It is used by licensed physicians, psychologists, and others. Physicians and psychologists may use hypnosis to treat depression, anxiety, eating disorders, sleep disorders, compulsive gambling, and posttraumatic stress, while certified hypnotherapists who are not physicians or psychologists often treat smoking and weight management."
They accidentally gave me twice my regular dosage of prolixen in the hospital and I confessed to starting WWI, WWII and the hula hoop craze in the sixties. I only got convicted of one of them.
One time, just after my surgery, the Navy SEALs gave me those kind of drugs before I went to recovery. They questioned me for 9 hours before they let my husband see me in recovery.
I had surgery and had similar thoughts about what happened when I was anaesthetized, now that I take aps I dont worry about what happened anymore, I had bad thoughts like getting raped or they stole my organs after they anaesthetized me.
They thought I was an agent. Now they think I am an agent for another country. They’re waiting for me to make a mistake and do something wrong. When I do, they’re going to torture me. I don’t know what mistakes I could make are, but that’s what they are doing. I don’t know why they haven’t killed me yet
I used to think i was a CIA trainer but was brainwashed to be a normal person so they could infiltrate and take my place, it wasnt bad until they started catching on to the implant and he started brainwashing me to get setup as the fall guy, wow delusional times i was living in
