Life is too short to make tomato sauce from scratch. I usually start tomato based sauces with cans of crushed tomatoes. I make all others from scratch.
That would be divorce territory for us. I could not abide living with a vegan.

@anon82948922 Why would you divorce someone for going vegan. When I was vegan, I made my husband and kids meals with meat every night. I just ate something different from them. I don’t see the big deal.
Because I don’t want to live with one. I don’t think I have to worry about this given how much she spends on deli meat, however.
Possibly on topic…

Just me so I don’t cook that much, but I can do it

The apple pies are just like the ones that are fried except i bake them because i don’t like 'em too oily. i like the sweet and tart apples. Staymans, they taste just like rhubarb to me
i couldn’t find a picture of the oatmeal cookies on my pc that i like to make.
but i did find a picture of the apple muffins.!

When i stopped taking all my meds abruptly last July i also lost my craving for a grilled cheese sandwich on wheat bread for lunch which i had everyday for years, toasted with Smart Balance buttery spread,
Now i like peanut butter and jelly for lunch. i’m bad to get into a rut.
And i’ve been told i make good corn bread in a small iron skillet.
The birthday while I still had my job my partner made me from scratcheck baked ravioli
Thank you @Persia. I will keep this recipe and make it soon. It sounds delicious and all the reviews were great. Thanks.
i cooked like a pro tonight and its very rare, had every hob on and the oven and it was really tasty,
i had a steak and threw some peppers on, potato croquettes, brussel sprouts and peas with a nice peppercorn sauce, yummy
yes I love to cook…just grilled boudin ( boo dan) sausages for the first time…you take them out of the casings before you eat them…it said it had liver in the sausage which made me leery but I didn’t taste the liver thank goodness…gonna get a lot of them now…they are very popular in the South. I cook a lot of cajun and so I had to try these.
This next week i want to do a bunch of muffins and cookies. I’d also like to prep and freeze some quick or slow cooker meals. I used to do that all the time but I’ve just really gone downhill in my health both mental and physical. Going to give it an honest effort.
@anon90843118 you can do it again!!
Aw Thankyou amity!
Time will tell lol
I am making Chicken Cacciatore right at this moment in my slow cooker. It is going to take a total of six hours to cook. It has four boneless, skinless chicken breasts, two, cans of whole canned tomatoes, chopped, two chopped onions, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a half cup of broth. Slow cook on Low for 6 hours. When that is done cooking, I add 2 tablespoons of capers and a bundle of fresh parsley, coarsely chopped, and without the stems, over this whole mixture. Then I serve this over cooked pasta.
It already smells so good. It’s been cooking for 2.5 hours now. 3.5 more hours to go. I can hardly wait. It serves 4- 8 people. Since I am the only one here, it should feed me for a whole week.
@SkinnyMe I love capers…sounds delicious…you must be comfortable financially to cook such an expensive meal? I can only afford cooking my jambalaya about every three months or so.
@jukebox, It would be expensive if it were only one meal but it’s not. It’s eight meals. And I am only one person. I only have to feed myself. I don’t have to worry about feeding a spouse or kids. I don’t have any problem with eating the same thing for dinner every day for eight days either. Especially if it is delicious. I just store the whole inner crockpot with lid in the refrigerator and it keeps for over a whole week. Very economical.
