Back when I was a kid they thought artificial sweeteners were linked to brain damage in children, but were safe for adults.
Everything is constantly evolving. Another example of this is the multitasking thing. They used to say women were better at multitasking. Now they say multitasking isn’t even real. True multitasking is just a myth.
If people knew half as much as they claim to know the world would be a much more advanced place.
Edit: Let’s face it. 50% of the worlds population is full of ■■■■. The other 50% of the worlds population is people who believe the first 50% 's ■■■■■■■■.
I’m only half kidding here

Thanks for posting @77nick77 .
I’ve been avoiding diet drinks for a while now. Not worth the risk.
I told both my nutritionalist and Diabetes management person that I drink diet soda on ocassion. Neither one said a word about not drinking them. I have talked to them both in the last couple months.

Diet soda: How much is too much? - Mayo Clinic.
This article is from the Mayo clinic, 5 months ago.
Has something drastically changed in the last 5 months or is one side of the “experts” wrong?
Drinking a reasonable amount of diet soda a day, such as a can or two, isn’t likely to hurt you. The artificial sweeteners and other chemicals currently used in diet soda are safe for most people, and there’s no credible evidence that these ingredients cause cancer.
I drink 16 litres of Diet Coke a week
Not the real Diet Coke but the cheap supermarket brand
Costs about 49p a 2 litre bottle
I had quit drinking diet soda a while back cuz I thought it wasn’t helping my tachycardia. But I started drinking it again when my heart rate was too low and I thought the caffeine would help bring it up…now I’m hooked again! I don’t worry too much about it, tho, I just have one 20 oz diet Mountain Dew a day.
