There’s a certain condition that manifests itself in diabetics and sometimes schizophrenia. It’s called polydipsia and it’s basically a condition where the person has excessive thirst and drinks liquids excessively. I’m not saying you personally have it but it can be bad for your health. And bad for your pocketbook.
It has been claimed that diet drinks can actually cause weight gain; either directly or indirectly. Many people claim that aspartame causes cancer. There’s good evidence on both sides of the issue, it depends who you want to believe.
The problem with regular soda is more obvious, it has a lot of sugar and definitely causes weight gain. An occasional regular soda is OK, drinking it daily can contribute to something as serious as becoming diabetic. If you’re going to drink a lot, switching to juice with no sugar and no carbs is not going to be bad as soda, although the best idea is to limit your liquid intake to water and have just an occasional soda as a treat
I am addicted to diet Pepsi and trying to get off off it for some of the reasons Nick talked about. I’ve been flavoring my bottled water with this. It has stevia on it. It’s the most natural sweetener and better for you than artificial sweetener and real sugar.![20190824_183459|281x500]

My grocery store has a whole huge section of those liquid bottled water enhancers, in addition to a gazillion flavors of Crystal Light. I didn’t know there were that many flavors! My husband likes to put lime juice in his water, I just drink my water plain.
To the OP, I don’t think that’s too excessive to drink in one day, though it would be better not to have so much soda. I drink nearly 2 liters of water a day.
