Did you gain weight while on Invega?

How long have you been on Invega or how long we’re you on it?

How much did/have you gained?

I’m on Invega for 10 years. Used to be on 9 mg and now 12 mg. First I gained 45 kg (100 lbs) and then since 2 years I lost 66 lbs (30 kg) and have a healthy weight.

If you don’t put in energy and effort you’ll likely gain weight but it’s possible to have a healthy weight on Invega.

I’ve recently been eating 1600 calories per day and exercising for an hour 4 days per week. I started Invega 2 weeks ago and have already gained 5 pounds. I guess I’ll have to go back down to 1200 calories per day

It’s a weight gainer. Indeed.

I replaced one meal a day with a shake and went for long walks + exercise biking.

You’ll have to be vigilant.

I started on 3/18/22 and gained 26 pounds. Have been counting calories and am down 3 of those pounds. Have to be absolutely vigilant.

Now coming off Invega, but not due to weight gain, it’s due to prolactin.

I’m sorry you gained so much in such a short time. Maybe your new med will enable you to lose

If it is working only after two weeks you might be able to lower your dose, ask your doctor of course. I stopped a very low dose of Invega, 1mg, and lost 20 pounds in a few weeks. These meds slow your metabolism and make you more hungry potentially causing weight gain and diabetes.

It’s not working well enough to convince me there is no one reporting, following and recording me. No med seems to take it away, which is why I’m concerned it’s real. So actually I plan to increase my dose

I believe this no matter what med I am on. What helped me is that since I am doing nothing wrong, then I shouldn’t worry about bring monitored because even if there is a very small chance that information is used against me I can do nothing about it. Ask yourself if learning to cope with paranoia is easier than having less of it with weight gain and chronic fatigue.

I’m sorry you gained 80 pounds. Does it work well enough for you that it’s worth it?

I was on it like 7 years ago and liked it. But I don’t recall the weight gain. I had to stop it when I lost my Medicaid because I couldn’t afford it. I’m thinking I may have to go back to Haldol if I can’t get this under control

I gained a bunch of weight since I started it. I’ve been using my fitness pal to track my calories and also using a food scale to weigh any food that I eat. I’ve lost 20+ pounds in a few months doing this.

Ok. Starting tomorrow, Monday, I am going back down to 1200 calories again. I tried to do it the past Monday but failed. Here’s to trying again!

How many calories do you eat
