May be because of malnutrition due to unresponsiveness.
In this video see her posture, lack of hand swings while walk. She herself tells that she unable to coordinate movements together. I think that’s catatonia and I too experience this all the time. Its not like a sudden come and go feeling instead persistent feeling of freezing up if not moved.
See in the video 2:00 she describes it.
It depends on severity. Severe catatonia can make you completely freeze:
Yes that’s full blown catatonia but partial also exists. Blunted affect is the faint form of catatonia.
Yes, for the first year and some. I’d go catatonic when overwhelmed by positive symptoms.
I have no positive symptoms but have these catatonic feeling.
Here you can see how catatonia meds really help, they can talk after being injected, they can’t swallow pills (they will choke) so they inject them and then give them pills:
You can see how they resist movement.
Thanks a lot for the video. Yes these medicines reduce the severity of catatonia. I think these medicines reduces blunted affect too if try in low dose.
I think catatonia is a very severe form of negative symptoms.
Yes exactly its. Severe form of negative symptom. It have nothing to do with positive symptoms as its the lack of emotion, movement, thoughts etc.
Wonder what medicines they used to relieve catatonic symptoms. Its not benzos only I think as I tried it and have no effect even on blunted affect. Instead it makes me dizzy.
From wikipedia catatonia:
Benzodiazepines are the first line of treatment, and high doses are often required. A test dose of intramuscular lorazepam will often result in marked improvement within half an hour. In France, zolpidem has also been used in diagnosis, and response may occur within the same time period. Ultimately the underlying cause needs to be treated.
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective treatment for catatonia
I thought about doing ECT but memory loss side effect scares me.
Do you have that girl like posture issues now?
I find it have something to do with sleep. If I get good quality sleep then blunted affect reduces.
Her posture seems normal, my cousin is like that and he doesnt have any illness.
She talks, acts and walk like a robot.
I am very curious about it. Please ask her if she have any mental issues like OCD etc as my condition resembles like her.
He’s a guy, he walks like a robot and is very shy but he is normal. He is married with kids and working in Dubai. He’s in Canada now with us and applied for a Canadian visa.
He always told me he has very bad memory and is afraid of getting Alzheimer. He often forget his things like wallet when he visit us.
Oh he resembles exactly to me. I am shy too from the age I remember and have memory issues too like rapid forgetting which is causing my OCD issues. I think he have OCD too ask him about it.
