Did you ever think there was a fundamental flaw in how you think?

Maybe something you could fix if you knew how.

Yes, black and white thinking.

There was definitely something very wrong with my thinking for over 33 years. I was paranoid, depressed, suicidal, delusional and occasionally manic.

Yes. That’s part of my fundamental flaw.

yea for sure.

i worry about how people perceive physical things about me that i cannot change

it is such a waste of time

i am working on adjusting that ugh…,

When I studied CBT there was a whole section on this, called cognitive distortions.

1. All-or-Nothing Thinking
2. Overgeneralizing
3. Filtering Out the Positive
4. Mind-Reading
5. Catastrophizing
6. Emotional Reasoning
7. Labeling
8. Fortune-telling
9. Personalization
10. Unreal Ideal

Yes. Whenever I am psychotic I feel like my mind is flawed and doesnt work properly, I feel like people take advantage of me, and Im not intelligent enough. Eventually when I get better these feelings pass as I get better at functioning.

I also found CBT really useful for getting rid of illogical thought processes.

Black and white thinking is the worst

My friend is a very black white thinker

I used to be too. Maybe as bad as him.

But I’ve improved a lot in this area.

I feel your pain once you’re conscious of it (which its hard to be conscious of it)

No, not really. I find a lot of other people around here to be very dishonest and abusive. They’re always accusing me of things other people do, because they want to get away with abusive things.
