Did you ever call the police for help

Maybe twice in my lifetime. I called the police once when I was in my 20’s because the guy in the nextdoor apartment was playing loud acid rock music at 2am.

Just this summer I called to find out if the hospital closest to me has psych help or not, and if they could see my location from my phone which they could.

I dont think ive ever called them. Apparently in australia, which is where im from, people call 911 in an emergency a lot. Instead of 000 which is the aussie emergency number. Its because so many of our movies and tv shows are american. I heard they made it so it automatically transfers to 000 now if you call 911 cause it was so frequent! Haha.

I’ve called them once for assault. Once for harrsement and assault. Both times they didnt do much. On the latter one they made the other party apologise which I guess is good but on the former they incorrectly told me no crime had been commited and treated me like I was in the wrong. In hindsight I shouldve complained.

This reminds me I called twice to report thefts. Once for my vacuum cleaner and another for using my identity to steal pandemic unemployment funds.

This was all non-emergency line stuff. I did get my vacuum cleaner back though.

Somebody stole your vacuum cleaner??

Did the Cops ‘dust’ for prints?

(Thank you! I’m here all week!! Try the fish!)

Once, because of someone violent doing not great things. In the end, nobody got hurt luckily.

Yes they actually did. You may laugh, but it was a $200 Oreck vacuum cleaner.

I can just imagine the thieves in your vacant house…

Jack: “Okay, Carl, you search the upstairs drawers for jewelry, and I’ll check the basement for computer equipment.”

Carl: “No need! We just hit the Jackpot! That’s a bloody $200.00 Oreck staring us right in the face!!”

“Start the car!!”

They didn’t want my busted up 13" CRT TV. I didn’t own a computer, stereo, or jewelry at the time.

When I was as little as 3 I kept calling 911 in fear of my dad. They always thought it was prank calls.

When I was 10 I called them while my dad was destroying the house and beat my mother until he broke her back. The cops came 4 hours later, and shamed me for wanting to put my dad in prison. He was never even arrested. He used to threaten us with guns to. No help. Nothing. I hate cops

I called the po-po’s once, many moons ago:

Was in a parking lot, and noticed I had parked next to a person who left their dog behind in the car.

Windows were barely cracked, and it was the middle of May in the Midwest (probs around 89F outside).

I think I had just turned 17, so I called 911 and told them of the situation, but didn’t think to stay and wait for the cops to come.

Dunno what ended up happening with the poor doggo, but I hope the police did the right thing and found the human responsible.

While living in a town in NJ, I relied on the police to help me with troubles my wife and my daughter. One week, I called them every day that week. They complained.
