Did you drink alcohol when you turned 21

I tried it out a week after my 21st birthday.

No I didn’t. Alcoholism runs in my family so I stay away from it. :rabbit2::rabbit2::rabbit2:

I never drank alcohol and I plan to keep it that way.

i went to the bar on my 21st bday. then proceeded to go back to our college place and get in the hot tub, only to wake up hanging over the side of the hot tub a couple hours later. what a stupid bday. i used to be an alcoholic, but started drinking underage at 19 when i went to college. drinking ran its course for me after about 10 years, and i no longer enjoyed it. i don’t go to AA.

Legal age is 18 here so started drinking socially at 18 y.o. Went to bars with friends. Shisha lounges too, they had alcohol.

I drank from 19-27. 21st was a bottle of grey goose in a hot tub. I don’t drink anymore. I don’t miss being blacked out and hangovers. If I do on a rare occasion it’s a little bit of wine, that’s all I can tolerate, everything else makes me sad and sleepy or angry.

I honestly can’t remember. I do remember my first time drinking though. Was in 2007.so I was 19 I think. I blacked out and was in Ghana.

They carried me. I was so heavy two ppl had to carry me.

It was fun.

But not really

I started drinking at around 15. 18 is the legal age here. I looked like 21 when I was 15 so I never got carded. Back then people didn’t get carded much. Now I have a drink once every couple of months.

I started drinking young…legal age of drinking is 18 in my country but started before that at Christmas parties, birthday parties and such… that led to a lot of harder liquor… now I just have wine or beer.

I drank pretty heavily from 16-25, then I quit because I started taking meds. I tried going back to drinking a few times, but it just made me sick and wasn’t any fun anymore. I haven’t had any alcohol since I was 29

I don’t like the taste of alcohol. Plus I have chronic pancreatitis and that’s the worse thing you could do with that illness, is drink.

I started drinking at 15 and went hard until 18. Stopped when pregnant with my oldest. Drank hard for a while after I left my ex, 23 to 25ish. Rarely have anything now, even though I have some in the house.

I think the first time i drank, i was 15. Legal age was 16 or 18 back then here. I went out with some older boys, they got me beer.

I had a period of heavier drinking when i studied, but only at parties.

Now i just drink 1-2 drinks a time max, and maybe just twice a month. I do notice i want alcohol when im anxious or upset…But i try to avoid using it that way.

I’m tempted to drink alcohol now. but I’m not because of taking medicine.

I’ve been drinking since I was in the army at 17. I blacked out once and have never had a hangover.

I’m so old that 18 was still the legal drinking age to buy beer only so I drank ever since I was 18. I drank like a fish all through my oil field days and college days…I still like to drink when my friends are with me or my family but I can’t sleep at my mom’s anymore so I don’t drink with my family…getting together october 8th and going to have a bluegrass concert with the after party at my house…haha…gonna be a blast.

I used to drink rather a lot until recently and I probably started when I was 18 and have never let up before. Only beer though, but still I feel like I have had a abuse problem because the meds magnify the negative effects of alcohol. Problem is if I take the meds a few hour after drinking there is interaction. And if I skip the meds after drinking I don’t sleep. So damned either way.

I do love the taste of beer though, but now I’m only drinking non or low alcoholic beer. I can already feel that it is a positive game changer for me.

I drank a 30 case on my 18th birthday.

Everything between that and my schizo diagnosis is kind of a blur

In sixth grade I would go over my friends house before school and we would raid his father’s mini bar and then go to school. We drank a lot of straight vodka and tequila.

I only hung out with that friend a year and when I made a new friend he didn’t smoke or drink so neither did I. It was kind of funny because I was afraid to tell him I smoked. I was kind of embarrassed to be the “bad kid” so I hid it. Later we didn’t drink until high school. By 11th grade it was normal for us to get drunk every weekend.

Ironically, I got diagnosed when I was 19 and discovered I couldn’t tolerate pot anymore. And in my first group home at 19 it was OK to drink at first but the people who ran it decided no alcohol or drugs for anyone living there. So I think I only got drunk twice for the year I was there.

And ironically when I was 20-21 I was in the hospital and I got drunk only once the entire time.

When I was 18, it was legal to drink in Virginia and Oklahoma. My uncle lived in Virginia. I was drinking when I was 16. Mother bought me beer, and I drank hard liquor, rum and coke, that was in the house. The drinking age in Arkansas was 21 when I was 18.
