I changed it when I got married to my husband’s last name
I’ve just got married and taken on my husband’s surname. It’s an odd spelling of common enough surname. I really like it, and I’m proud to be married to him. Do what you feel is best for you, ish.
In China except for Hong Kong the woman keeps her family name and does not adopt her husband’s surname. Only their children inherit the family name of the father.
For example, the female star of the Disney movie “Mulan” is Liu Yifei (刘亦菲). She keeps her entire name throughout her lifetime but in Hong Kong they are using the Western concept. A Hong Kong woman’s name such as (林郑月娥) contains both her family name and husband’s surname.
Yeah I can see the name change happening because of marriage.
Didn’t think of this.
I changed mine back to my birth surname and that of my father
Mainly because I was psychotic and tried to run away from people who had stopped chasing me years before.
It was messed up, but I changed it back in the end
I also changed my name at one point, by deed poll, because I was being stalked. I really was being harassed, but I was also very poorly and stressed over it, and didnt know how to deal with it. So yeah, I changed my first and second names to something different. I changed it back later.
