Did culture stop inventing things after the 1980s?

Hear me out !

Music : Rap/pop/electronic all invented before 1985

Mobile phones in use in the 80s

Ibm PC and microsoft windows in use in the 80s

Home computer games and consoles in use in the 80s

Digital music format (CD) in use in the 80s

Recording TV to watch later
Watching videos of your choosing on tv

The internet. I sent my first email in 1989.

There’s been nothing new since then. Just improvements.

I was born in 84, and I was not safe from Fred Krueger! I saw three of those films by the time I was 6, man did they mess me up lol. Also Nintendo, horrible fashion, cheap gas, no internet, libraries were a thing, and there was no social media. I was more adult in the 90’s though so I knew some DOS. I was all about my Ultima Online, which had its roots in the 80s.

Also Rap used to be really, really good! Now all people do is talk about how great they are. Dude, we already know you got signed to a label out of millions of people who wanted that, you’re good, you don’t need to brag!

Dubstep, mp3, mp4, GPS, smartphones, facial recognition software, memes, and streaming services, off he top of my head. I’m not saying they were all winners, but the innovative spirit of humanity hasn’t slowed down.

USB drives, fondant, 3D printers, photoshop, drawing tablets, self-driving cars, sorry I keep thinking of more.

A great way of taking a look at things that will come in the future is by observing concepts created by artists. I think that in a near future, they’ll probably create contact lens that record everything you see. There’s similar stuff in Black Mirror (Netflix series).

Maybe they’ll create a real Matrix. Concepts created by artists are always impressive. I never forget when I was a kid and was amazed with the idea of a watch that was also a cell phone. Nowadays we have smartwatches.
