Technology changes

What have you seen in your life for technology advancement for me when I was young the video game graphics were bad terrible in todays standards the internet didn’t have cellphone that could use it there were no self checkout machines and idk I didn’t do archery till I was 20 but supposedly looking back at some of them from the early 2000s and late 90s the flagship bows were a joke in today’s standards also fish finders you can actually see a fish bite not back when I was a kid they had bad depth finders in todays standards one thing I forgot to mention I saw a video of a guy who bought what in the early 2000s and at the time it was worth 1700 now other bows that are 500$ are smoother and faster not saying they couldn’t take down game old aboriginal people used stuff we would laugh at to shoot moose and elk

My first computer was an Intel 386 running Windows 3.0. It had the card deck game solitaire and Microsoft Word 4.0. There were no sound cards or CD-ROM drives for computers in 1991. Hard disk drives were 20MB on a single disc platter by Western Digital. Cellular phones at that time came as a large phonebook with an antenna and handle by Motorola. Only voice communications were available on cell phones. Pagers were unavailable to market until 1995.

There were almost no PC’s when I was a kid growing up. My neighbor had a rudimentary PC in 1976 because he worked as an early computer programmer. I remember when pagers were the new technology. When I was a kid growing up there was no cell phones. I remember when the very first video game was invented in 1974. It was called Pong and it was like a tennis match, each played had a 3/4 inch paddle and hit a ball against each other; that was the entire game.

There was no internet when I was a kid of course. When I was a teenager the most modern device to play music was a tape recorder. My very first car had an 8-track player in it and only an AM radio. No seatbelts by the way or headrests.

Our family’s first computer was an Apple IIc, with a huge 128 kb (that’s Kilobyte) hard drive! It ran DOS and had a floppy disc drive, the 5.5 inch kind. We’d play text games like Zork, and there was this brand new RPG game called “Fallout” that I played on it. Those were the days when the TV had 3 channels and the only “cellphones” were the communicators they used on Star Trek episodes. Life seemed so much simpler and slower then, but in a good way. I think technology has made life so much more complicated…
