i went and got a diet coke, and a pack of smokes at the gas station yesterday. felt bad about it, as the cashier should have had the day off, she wished me a merry christmas but i could tell she was not enjoying her job and the fact she had to work on christmas. i saw other people in there so i decided what the heck i may as well go get something, but wish i could have waited until today.
Yesterday I went downstairs in my apartment building to get a Coke out of the vending machine. The security guard was working and wished me Merry Christmas.
Hopefully she had a short shift yesterday. Some workplaces will give several people shorter shifts to cover the holiday.
Didn’t shop anywhere yesterday, didn’t even so much as browse Amazon. Staying off there today as well. We’ll have to maybe grab some coffee cream next week, but we’re stocked up pretty well for the next few days.
I used to work in a convenience store, and everyone would come in and work a two or three hour shift on Christmas.
I went grocery shopping. Got my stuff and got home and looked at the receipt and saw the cashier didn’t give me the posted sale price on most of my items. Immediately called customer service to see what was going on and after some wrangling about if the Pepsi was actually on sale the lady told me to come back.
The reason I mention diet Pepsi is because when I got it, the sign said 4 12 packs for $10.00. The cashier charged me full price which was $27.00! I turned around and drove back. The cashier had charged me $138.00. I had the receipt to prove it. After a little more wrangling about sale prices the customer service lady saw I was right and adjusted the prices. I was refunded $44.00!
So I left a little happier than when I went in.
In Arkansas they have to let you have it for the price stated on the sign, or it’s False Advertising which is a crime.
Same here in California. Whatever price tag is on the product they have to give you. I remember as a kid occasionally hearing the stories of stuff that normally sold for a couple bucks being mistakenly marked down to twenty or thirty cents and the store had to give it to the customer for next to nothing.
How much is a twelve pack of generic brand soda running these days in California?
I’m just curious.
Today I got a twelve pack of Shasta for 3.50 but it used to only be two something.
The price fluctuates but it cost about the same. You can go to Safeway and buy their brand of soda and for a 12-pack it cost about $3. 50. I usually only buy soda when it’s on sale. If I see 2 liters of Coke on sale for 99 cents I’ll buy 3 or 4 of them. An average sale price for 2 liters is about $1.50 to $1.75. There’s always a sale on soda somewhere so I usually can get 12 packs for under $4.00 apiece.
More than you wanted to know about soda prices?
It’s all good! I was curious because I thought soda would be a lot more expensive in California.
I live in the Midwest, and even here grocery prices are starting to rise a little bit.
I bought a sticker of St. Therese yesterday (thanks, obsession with religion). I don’t really frequent any businesses, but when I have money, I like to order things from Etsy that tickle my fancy. Plus, I get to support small businesses! I tend to do a lot of my shopping online because it’s more convenient for me.
