I can feel a depressive episode coming on. It’s probably gonna last at least a week. Anyone know how to mitigate these things? My meds don’t do anything…
Distractions help keep you from dwelling on it.
Watch funny movies, cat memes, youtube videos…
Take good care of yourself. Sleep hygiene, food intake and exercise.
Try to get proper sleep, socialize, reduce stressors. But generally you just have to ride the storm until it passes. Generally by the time I know one is coming on it’s too late.
I find the best thing to do during depressive episodes is things that keep your mind busy, like menial work or hanging with friends. The pain of it is that when you’re badly depressed you will likely strongly not want to do any of these things…but it does help because otherwise you can end up lying in bed all day drowning in horrible pain.
I’m gonna try and bump my doctor’s appointment up to today if I can, if not then I’ll look into hospitalization, because last night was along the lines of suicidal thoughts.
Update: my doctor put me up to 20mg Abilify and gave me a psychiatry referral. I took my 20mg today and I’m feeling much better.
