I don’t have that, if it lasts long do a stool test.
Yeah I’ll bring it up with my doctor
Well I’m glad you are getting checked. It’s worth it. Keep us posted. Stay healthy so I can annoy you as much as possible here.
Thanks again @Aziz and @anon78876561!
I’ll keep you guys posted.
I talked to my family doctor this morning and he said that there were no gall stones or abnormalities with my gallbladder but I did have fat surrounding my gallbladder.
When I asked him if I had a fatty liver also he said that it was possible but my liver results from my blood work done last December didn’t show liver abnormalities.
He wants me to get another Ultrasound in 3 months.
I’m also going to have a blood test done in November or December.
I still don’t know whether I have to remain on Depakote.
I talk with my psychiatrist this week.
Thank you for updating us. I know this has to be very scary, but it is good that you are doing all the things you need to.
Thanks @Ninjastar
I wonder if fat surrounding my gallbladder also means that I suffer with a fatty liver?
@gcar
It is most likely connected. I’m glad you are okay. Thank for updating me.
Oh ok @anon78876561 thanks!
I cant answer that without first knowing what your demographics are. age weight sex bmi and ethnicity and family history and genetic predispositions . also what are your comorbidities -medical conditions and what is you alcohol intake. Could be a number of things. Typically in the case of say alcoholic steatohepatitis its reversible when the insult is removed. Hepatitis is a bit more tricky depends on what type of hepatitis. also need a std HIV test to rule out other etiological factors. Non alcoholic fatty liver disease can impact/induce choleosiscitis but not super common. All and all know fatty liver disease depending on cause ie gentic or not has a variable outcome but many people can live with it fine depending on comorbidities. And of all the organs in the body the liver is most regenerable., Sounds like the best thing you can do since you have DM is to lose weight. this has a hug impact on the liver even just 8-12lbs or so. exercise is what helps the most. But like I say id need your demographics to justify correlaries
Oh ok thanks @gcar
I’m overweight 5 foot 6 and weigh 207 lbs.
I don’t drink any alcohol.
I heard that Depakote can cause fatty liver too although I’m diabetic and have high triglycerides.
What I really want to know is can you have a fatty gallbladder without having a fatty liver?
Ugh. I feel bad that that happened to you.
Elevated TGC levels in respects to the galbladder pathophysiologicaly manifest as choleolithstasis rather than a fatty GB. Meaning you have gallstone formation. Very very common presentation seen if pt has the 4F’s (fat, 40, female, fertile). Treatment stresses acute diet and exercise regiments prior to pharmacological interventions. APs can contribute to the pathogenesis of say metabolic syndrome and do not help with the progression of TGC depositions all in the body.
the liver has a lot of functions its main function is formation of enzymes and chemical mediators as well as filtration of the blood. Based on your approximate bmi assuming your in your 30-40s as well the key thing you need to do to better your help and prevent complications is diet and exercise. id start w 30min a day forst week then 1 hr next two weeks then 1.5 following that. meanwhile cut out your fat intake, stay away from a keto diet, adopt a DASH diet and decrease you CHO intake especially in regards to simple sugars added sugars and processed foods. The future of your health is in your own hands
Thanks so much @gcar!
I’m 56 years old @gcar
I just got high liver enzyme back from bloodwork too. Getting an scan of my liver on nov 3.
Good luck @Bowens
