Does anyone else have liver problems?

I left the doctors yesterday and he said my liver had high numbers. It could be liver failure. He said I might need to cut down on my psych meds. What the hell do I do now?? Do you have liver problems?

Are you taking anything else other than antipsychotics? Like supplements ?

Or perhaps alcohol?

I don’t drink enough to cause liver failure. My doctor told me that.

I take haldol, the shot, 100 mg.

I have a non alcoholic fatty liver but that’s it. Hasn’t caused me any problems yet. Hopefully they can run a few more tests to verify for sure what’s up with your liver. Best wishes.

I hope they get to the bottom of it. You may have to switch meds. Haldol is processed by the liver.

My pdoc and gp told me that my non-alcoholic fatty liver is the result of taking medication, Depakote in particular, for a long period of time.

I know that Depakote is a miracle drug for some people, but it does have a black box warning on it because it can damage the liver and pancreas.

I was switched from Depakote to Lamictal and my liver enzymes have improved significantly.
