David Bowie and I share the same birthday,
And I’m a big fan, of course, everyone is.
I saw an article with his name on it and read about how he has a brother named Terry with schizophrenia that he lends a lot of credit to.
It appears the brother did not do well with his illness and was in a hospital most his life.

I have heard famous people with their children or relation having schizophrenia. This is a new information. Good to know.

Apparently several other members of his family on his mother’s side had sz too. And he had a fear he would get it too.
Someone told me that Bowie was a little mentally ill too at one point, perhaps drug induced. Apparently he really believed there were spiders on mars, which inspired one of his songs.
Yeah, he committed suicide in 1985.

I’ve read that 50% of schizophrenics do a suicide attempt and 10% die by suicide.
It’s a sad statistic that his brother belongs to.

I imagine his brother influenced a lot of his lyrics and music, and maybe even some of his costumes and personas he took on.
