Well Goodnews and badnews,
My good news is that I got final approval for testosterone injections,
bad news is that my body is hardly making T any more, so instead of therapy, the injections will be more of a lifetime thing
Other good news, invega seems to work good for my positives,
Bad news is that I will yet again probably have to switch meds because I was told to look out for tender and sore breasts, and unfortunately this has out of the blue, just started occuring.
Uurrgh!!!
Ps- just saw an interesting post earlier and wondering if abilify is the next good option to go to. Wondering tho how many peeps had a problem with akathisia while on it?
I had akathisia on Abilify but it’s rare so you’ll probably be fine.
Everyone on here is hopping onto abilify
It’s a dangerously good drug though, in my personal experience.
My advice is if you’re on Abilify, you should give up coffee! The 2 together seem to cause anxiety .
What do you mean?
@Mars @Bagul1 @everhopeful
Thanks for the info guys, thats a pretty
good outlook for abilify
@LilyoftheValley For me it manages my symptoms really well and has little side effects. I’ve tried tons of ap’s and it’s my favorite.
Dangerously good might be an overstatement I am just happy I finally found something that I do well on.
Abilify gave me akathisia for the first couple of months, when I first started the drug but later my body adjusted to it.
Expect some potential anxiety with Abilify.
It revved me up constantly, my anxiety was off the charts!
It also increased my paranoia.
I finally had to come off of it after years of being on it.
I’m so glad you found something that helps you so much
Thanks @Wave , good things to keep in mind
@sherlock @Wave Yeah I hear that is common. I had pretty bad anxiety and akathisia on the injection form as well. But on pill form almost no anxiety or akathisia.
I was on the injection, maybe I should try the pills. Also it takes like 2 months for akathisia to wear off if you get the injection.
You don’t want to hear it, but having T also helps with enlarged prostates. Do not skip future PSA checks. Don’t ask how I know this.
As in T helps lessen the enlarged prostate, or helps contribute to it?
The latter. You don’t get to have your cake and eat it too.
Ive heard that before but I still always try to scarf some down before they take my plate away
