Abilify for Somethting

Anyone know something about this medication?

People can get impulse problems with this med even though it’s said to be weight neutral.
I got akathsia for the first two months.

It raised my blood sugar and i have to take metformin for that. Get blood tests every 6 months to make sure everything’s ok.

Sounds good :ok_hand:t2: 15151515

I haven’t taken APs in a long time, so I’m worried.

I mean it’s relatively good compared to others out there cos it’s less sedating than others. Also it did get rid of my positive symptoms. Good luck with it

Thanks 15151515

Psychiatrists love prescribing Abilify because it’s a tried safe AP, it’s basically not a big weight gaining drug.
Many people find it to be a bit activating.
It can trigger anxiety.

It’s worth a shot in my opinion if your doctor has given you the green light.

Totally. The green light is on. I just have to call her. I’m worries because I haven’t been on anything except a non useful amount of lithium (and I’ve been away from the forum for a bit)

However, many respond well to itI hate it so much but am stuck on it. It makes me volatile. I recently lowered dosage before I had the chance to rip someone’s head “literally” off.

Oh, wow 1515151515

Some people respond well to it, though

Totally. It’s always different for everyone.

Yup, just saying how it affects me

Got it. Thank you!

Effective for psychotic and mood symptoms.

Abilify is a dopamine agonist/antagonist. Up to 10 mg it increases dopamine activity, 10-20 mg it modulates dopamine activity and at 30 mg persistently blocks dopamine receptors (as reported by RxFiles reference software).

It did great for my moods but I was taken off of it because it also gave me mild tremors, actually.

I’m not sure if I have any mood issues. Just thoughts

Well, I was put on it as a regular AP. The mood thing was a bonus effect.
