I have never used one of those card readers to pay for a transaction. I wouldn’t have a clue how to do it. I’m really phobic about it,( as I am also anything that is self service) . What if I put the card in wrong and hold people up. I would annoy people and people would think I was stupid.
They have “TAP” now. Just hold your card against the device and payment is authorized. No button pushing necessary.
Me too. I am hesitant to use self check-out machine (when I traveled abroad).
Get used to it, and you will not think twice about it anymore.
Yes. Visa payWave, for example.
as long as purchase is less than 100 bucks! here at least and guess what USA does not have the tap option yet
In NY everybody only swiped my credit card!
just memorize little clues. Such as where the numbers end, the chip is there. AND use a code in a number or alphabet shape such as 7 your code will be 7852
I think you can buy a coffee to drink and wait for people to use it and you just learn it without people noticing you, that might save you from embarrassment
I use the card reader every time I buy something,
Every day.
I still hold up the line because its long process.
The card takes a minute to connect, you have to answer like 4 questions, enter a pin#,
Everyone takes that long, its just how its designed.
If it makes you uncomfortable, just don’t use it,
But if you have to, know that those things are a pain and most people haven’t adjusted to it yet either.
I haven’t seen a single person not hold, everyone screws it up in front of me. The only thing I’ve ever seen a line of people regret is when someone writes a check and it takes 10 minutes to clear it.
