Card readers for online banking. Have been nervous about using mine since the cock up when I first had to use it for something. It told me to type in 4 numbers on the web form. I tried that 4 times and it rejected them and then proceeded to lock me out of my account. It took quite a long phone call to unlock the account. Have been too nervous to use the card reader since.
Of course when I move and need to update bank details I can either do it via printing out a form and posting(no printer,can you get a laptop printer?) or online using the card reader(thoughts of another cock up and being locked out of the account again) .It’s not as though I made a hash of typing in the numbers .I actually wrote them down on a piece off paper off the card reader and copied the numbers onto the web form).
When they insist on people using such things they should at least make sure they work properly. To meet with a hiccup if you are technophobic anyway just makes you more technophobic.
