Not my fault. I was at Walgreens yesterday picking up my pain medication and I saw Diet Coke was on sale so I picked up two six packs. I get to the checkout counter and there was only one person ahead of me. There were two counters but at one of them was a guy I didn’t like so I was happy when I got the young women.

She rang up my Diet Coke but when I went to pay with my debit card it wouldn’t work in the damn tiny machine. I kept sticking it in but the machine wouldn’t take it. And a line started forming behind me. I just put my head down and tried it every way possible but even when the girl tried, it wasn’t taking my card. I took two long minutes to get it to work and I was totally awkward and embarrassed and the guy I didn’t like was smirking. It finally worked and I said thank you and got out of there. I don’t know if the people in the line behind me were mad or laughing. Damn, it sucked.

Whoa you timed yourself? While fumbling entire way?

I bet that’s what they will be thinking about all day.

What bothers you more? People judging you or you judging yourself?

Does your card have a chip. Sometimes mine jams, too and doesn’t read. If you rub it vigorously on your sleeve for a few seconds it will usually work.

Yeah, it has a chip. I’ve heard of that trick but didn’t think of it at the time.
