Creativity with the Schiz

So who here is creatively inclined, whether it be through writing, drawing, painting, music, crafting, or anything else?

I paint, I draw, I write, and I sometimes craft things. In fact, I painted today for the first time in a long time.
How about you? What crafts do you do?

I wish I had a creative outlet

I am constantly involved in the craft and manufacture or art and style products. Next up will be a beeswax hair pomade? Who knows what happens next, friends have found my drawings from the past in my basement office and they’re obsessed with them, yet I don’t want to sell them or get rid of them but keep them and copyright the graphic art I have achieved in book literature thus far.

I like to write, draw, paint and write music once in a while. It’s hard to consistently to do it, but I’m going to try to do a bit everyday from here on out. I do write in a journal close to everyday though.

I have three electric guitars and a midi synthesizer and a drum kit with zildjian cymbals. I run music out of my basement.

Nice. I used to play the trumpet, but I got lazy and it’s pretty loud to play in my house. Might get back into it and possibly music production.

Me too, maybe you’re right because we’re in the same boat and missing out playing times… Let’s practice a bit no?

I am like an inertia of awesome creativity!

I draw (I posted a drawing on here recently), I design my own tattoos, I write books, poems, journals, songs, and I sing and play guitar.

My brother and I are in the process of forming a band. We like everything from Elliot Smith to dark/doom metal. So it should be interesting lol

Elliott Smith is my favorite musician.

I like to write, draw, and play a little guitar. I had my first piece of writing published a few months ago. My favorite medium to draw in is charcoal.

That’s wonderful animalmineral!

I like charcoal for shading and doing big sketches. I just can’t stand the mess it makes on my hands haha.

Say Yes is my favorite Elliot song

Thank you!

Haha yeah, charcoal is very messy. That’s the drawback.

I once took a figure drawing class where we mostly used charcoal and it taught me so much. It was hard though.

I have too many favorite Elliott songs to name. I think my favorite album of his is XO…

@Chrishasheart Good luck with your band! Maybe post some of your music sometime if you haven’t yet…

Thank you! @animalmineral We’re working on getting drums at the moment. I am begging my brother to buy a drum machine, but we’re probably just gonna get the basic drum kit.

I can post some of my acoustic stuff in the near future. My voice is ok, I try to put my emotion in it

When I’m okay I’m very creative (art and literature and what-not). In my worse months I tend to think too much to get it on paper. It’s a shame, because I think it’d help. Ah well

I write. Or at least I did before meds. I haven’t written anything new in months, but I have been sending out my older stuff and have gotten some poems published.

I paint and sketch and I’m a decent writer. I like to write short stories and poems on a writing website… painting is my main artistic expression. It’s been about five months, though, since I’ve painted. Going through a dry spell…plus I don’t have any canvases and can’t afford them right now…

Creativity seems very prevalent in people with schizophrenia.

I do some writing, but it will take a lot of work to get as good as I want to be.
