Controversy- religion and John Lennon Song "imagine"

ah, this song! i mean the world today just doesn’t seem to be in touch with the true and real things that the human soul is meant to experience.

“imagine there’s no heaven” (at least to me) this doesn’t mean there isn’t a heaven. but it is merely about human morals, and how God intended us as human souls to live life on this planet. and that does not mean there is no heaven, but the words in this song are actually to me just about that. how the afterlife will actually be.

Basically if in doubt, avoid religious topics…

When I hear that song I do imagine what he is describing. I think it’s a warmer place thinking there is a Heaven and Hell because I hate the cold. That may be the whole reason for why we believe in these scenarios being truth. It makes it a closed environment where we feel more together. instead of everyone floating off into space somewhere all by themselves.

It is also a way for us to think the same(on the same page) by believing the same beliefs of religion and science as the base of our core beliefs. It can branch off as it has from whence it started. This forms a less geometric and a more human kind of structure of beliefs that co-exist. I like believing there is only One god (monotheistic) that we have to deal with. I think that Zoroastrianist were the first monotheistic religion(Middle East). This is comparable and analogous to my thinking that the only people that are going to tell me what to on this Earth are law enforcement officials. Or maybe a much stronger person but even then it is an option.

Its about all the things that seperate us, such as religion, race and politics, and how the world could be if we embraced caring and kindness for one another. Its a refelction on John Lennons life with Yoko Ono in which they spent most of the time just the two of them in bed. Its a great song.

yes i have recently been branching into religion. and though i do believe in a universal God and an afterlife. i do not believe in certain old world views concerning god and religion. i do not think that if you don’t believe in “this or that” then you are doomed, I believe that we as humans are all connected as a species and are in a time period where we are so separated in terms of religion and moral beliefs, but that if we follow our natural instinctive moral structure that we will and are all accepted into heaven after this life. sorry for the controversy LOL
