Confusion and disorientation

Sometimes I find myself somewhere and have no idea how I got there. Sometimes I know where I am but feel totally disoriented. Like I was at the grocery store and couldn’t remember where anything was located when normally I do. Can sz do that?

That doesn’t sound like a schizophrenia symptom.

Sounds like dissociation?

slight depersonalization maybe? if not disassociation.

I have disorientation too. When I am anxious everything seems strange, unknown, dream like.

I told my counselor and he said it could be from my brain lesions too.

I get confusion and disorientation too. I hope it’s a symptom of Sz because I can’t handle having anything else wrong with me. I always know how I got somewhere and I remember where the things are on the shelf, I just have a general feeling of being lost and scared.

@agent101g That sucks. But at least you’re not completely disoriented. Do you think yours is more like anxiety? Like maybe a panic attack?

I suppose it could be anxiety. It isn’t as bad with the meds I’m on and I did successfully navigate the airport to get home from my trip recently. It’s just enough to make me worry though. Confusion and disorientation is listed on some sites as a symptom. I have my appointment in three hours I’ll make sure to mention it.

That’s a good idea @agent101g

(again i click on the add button. haha.)

it’s really confusing sometimes. like if a med adjustment has been made and things are working themselves out but also considering that mental illness might be involved, stress, changes in our life, emotions and feelings.

plus the way the human body works is amazing. lil hairs, receptors and pouches of fluids everywhere (like the inner ear) can throw off something as important as our balance or perception of our surroundings.

guess it’s important to do the best we can during times like these. i try to asses if i need to go home and wait it out or if i can continue what i’m doing. i’m usually focused on being safe to some degree during times like this.
