i was on 225 mg of Effexor and tapered down to 75 mg. this is my second day off. Oh this is horrible… Any advise?
Try to tough it out. Effexor is one of the HARDEST meds to come off of.
Oh geez…I’ve been there.
I don’t know…it was a long time ago for me…just…I don’t know…be lucky you aren’t coming off upwards of 700mg cold turkey because your doctor refused to taper you.
It’s painful I know…good luck.
effexor is venlafaxine right? i’ve been on it and coming off of it was a nightmare. i couldn’t even drive i felt so dizzy and nauseous. all i can say is tough it out. it took about two weeks for me to fully recover my equilibrium but i did. no more anti d’s for this chick, that’s for sure. skanky drugs the lot of them. good luck and let us know how you’re doing xxx
taper more slowly?
Unfortunately they can’t go lower. I guess I just brave it out.
The cessation syndrome with Effexor is legendary. I went through it!

Oh that is the worst feeling. I googled how to cope with it and here’s what I came up with: eating healthy because you’ll get the munchies or be unable to eat, exercise, benadryl may help the side effects, Omega 3’s. This website; http://www.healthboards.com/boards/depression/175123-effexor-withdrawal-tips-dos-donts.html had a lot of good info from posters, you might want to scan thru it.
I agree that stuff is poison. I read that you may feel the withdrawal effects for up to a year afterwards.
