İ didnt feel any mental fog but its made me extremely tired what did you experience?
İt seems to be a rare medicine that nobody takes?
@Bongogo ,I’m sorry for not posting earlier.
I’m on Clozapine 25 years,ask…
I don’t like the monthly blood draws and the drooling.
I’ve been taking it for more than 5-6 years.
Very good IMO
Been on clozapine 16 years or so. Always sleep well. Sleep normal hours
Bit of weight gain
Still get symptoms
Can’t increase dose because of side effects
I have been on clozapine for 14 years. It makes me calm, I sleep well and I can see things and problems in life from a “sane” perspective. Bad thing is that it makes me sedated as hell. It’s hard to drive a car. Best regards.
I had a friend who took it and she drooled and wet the bed a lot from it.
I’m on 300mg clozapine and its a good med for me
Also on 300.
Plus two other APs
Atropine Sulfate drops help the drooling.
I am on 250 mg / day.
I take 150mg in the morning and 300mg in the evening.
I was on clozapine, it was the best med I’ve ever taken for sza…but it gave me tachycardia and QTc-prolongation which kept making me pass out. It took away the voices, gave me good sleep, and reduced my agitation. Yes, i also drooled on it, but sublingual atropine drops helped, and I’d been on it long enough to do monthly blood tests. But, oh man, those cardiac issues…had to go off of it.
i gained more than half my weight in 6 months (60 pounds). i drooled so much at night i would choke and sometimes throw up in my sleep. i got tachycardia and had to take a medicine for it. my blood sugar went high and had to take a diabetes medicine for it. i hated clozapine. and for me it worked no better than paliperidone.
Weight gain,OCD symptoms worse, tachycardia, drool in sleep, sleep long hours
I had my last dose last Friday after 12-13 years being on it. Over the last 3-4 months of tapering off very slowly I have lost 35 pounds since
But we believe I’m going through withdrawal “cholinergic symptoms”
It is very anticholinergic and now that it’s out of my system I have nausea, diarrhea, feel weak, loss of appetite etc
So yeah they said that shouldn’t last more than 2 weeks
My team said they’d start the ball rolling for me for Clozapine - that was in December. Here we are to date, no change as of yet. Once it actually happens, Ill let you know.
I refuse to be on Clozapine.
I love clozapine. Before it I could not function at all.
Drooling is not that often now
Constipation is really bad. I forgot to take my morning dose of laxatives 2 days ago and it has hit me again
Literally the only persisting side effect that’s serious
Have been losing weight
Been on it since January 2023
My symptoms are being well managed currently
I will say again, I wish I had listened the first time they offered it to me
