Clozapine Blood testing (details and frequency)

Hi… first post here.

So I missed two doses (not consecutively) during a month. This is after about 2.5 years on clozapine and only taking 100mg at this point.

The pharmacist has required that I return to weekly blood tests. Everything I’ve read says that with this dose and a history of no abnormal blood work over 2.5 years my risk for severe side effects is essentially zill. I feel like the pharmacist is trying to make a point but not one backed by any science.

Has anyone experienced similar treatment?

I’ve only been on clozipine for about 7 months… but my nurse warned me if I missed a dose, I’d have to go back to getting blood drawn weekly instead of bi-weekly…I can’t remember why, but I have heard of it…
