Clozapine advice needed urgently!

May I ask, what about the bed wetting?

It only happened in the first few months… it’s been bout 7 months since i had an ā€œaccidentā€ā€¦ but I did know a guy who was on a large dose and wet the bed so frequently that his wife made him wear depends…

Did it at anytime make you Zombified?

Nope I stayed on something that isn’t seen as a drug of last resort!

Nope, no sedation… didn’t affect sleep or awareness at all…

What dose did you start on? What were your side effects? Sorry to ask you all these questions, I really need as much information as possible before I make a decision… I am genuinely confused

I take 100 mg in the morning and 200 mg at night… it took about a month to get on this dose because they start off with a smaller amount and increase u every week to check ur blood count, since it can be a very dangerous drug if not regulated properly, hence the constant blood draws… this month I am increasing morning and night meds by 25 mg each because the delusions haven’t gotten to a point I can handle, but the voices have receded and my anxiety is down most likely due to that…

What were your side effects?

Bed wetting for the first few months, but hasn’t happened for 7 months now, extreme drooling to the point of waking up and can’t breath cause I’m chocking on the drool, I’m on constipation medication to prevent it from happening but I was on those before starting clozapine but it is a normal side effect, and that’s bout it… can’t really think of any others…

O also a side effect it affected my speech… my words get jumbled and I get tongue tied…

Oh dear… that is one of my biggest concerns, it happened to me on my previous medications… did you put on a lot of weight on clozapine? Did you suffer night sweats, restless leg syndrome? Memory loss? I concern is that like others I will become zombified like I did on my previous medications.

I didn’t gain much weight unlike others I was on, not more than 10 pounds but I was able to lose it which on the others I kept on gaining… no night sweats or restless leg, I’ve suffered memory loss since I was a young child but it doesn’t seem anymore prominent… I don’t feel zombified, I still can sit and read at least 100 pages in a good book in a sitting, I go hiking and out to the mall or Walmart almost every day to get steps in, I stay focused and I’m not zoning out and staring into nothing for no reason like I was before, and I can focus on conversations better because I’m not listening to voices constantly talking through other people…

Ya, no problem… honestly I can’t remember if I was restless, but I do know I felt a difference after a week, it didn’t take long for me to decide to stick with it…

I had very bad weight gain and it didn’t help me. However, I am very treatment resistant.

Thank you by the way, I feel more encouraged now. I am still unsure of what I will do, however…I will not lie, I was completely shocked when I saw all the side effects. There are so many. I suffered a lot with night sweats previously, but bed wetting is something else…

I have been very resistant too, thus, encouraged to try clozapine. Other than weight gain, did you experience anything else? Did you experience being zombified?

The main other thing I remember was very strong sedation. It was I think over 6 years ago so I don’t remember too many other details. I remember taking it and when it hit my system, simultaneously wanting to lay down, wherever I was, and wanting to eat tremendous amounts of food.

Initially I assumed that it was just one dose a day, to be taken at evening. And, then today I was told it would be taken day and night… so my question is… if one takes it in the morning, does one become sedated in the day too, as well as the night? This is a huge area of concern as I study

When I took it at night it definitely sedated me. I don’t think I’ve ever taken it in the morning. I guess some others have had different experiences.
