I like to wear lots of clothes and i feel more comfortable wearing a cap with a loose beanie over it with a jacket hood over that and layers of clothes like a t shirt, flannel shirt, and rain jacket but i think it makes me look weird but it makes me feel comforable. It helps me feel more hidden when i feel paranoid. Should i worry about looking weird or being comfortable? What would u do? Dress in a way u feel uncomfortable or dress how ur comfortable but look weird

Wear what makes you feel comfortable. Don’t worry. Doesn’t matter what others think of how you dress they probably ain’t no better.

It depends. A bit inbetween. It depends a lot on whom I am seeing.
As an example. I wear a headscarf sometimes. This is not common here. Only muslims and one anarchist girl I know wear them.
In anxious periods, it feels protective. It hides me, as your clothes do. It also for me means: my body is mine. It is a feminist symbol for me, because I grew up with sexism disguising as liberalism. And some of the more conservative clothings, for me protest against that.
If son is there, though, I do not. He hates it. He’d would be ashamed. Also when meeting some people I am fine and wear it. Because they do not judge me, or it is not important they judge me. In some situations I do not. Because there is too much social backlash from it…and it is not strategical. E.g. a job interview or meeting people I do not want to chase away.
I think it is important to be comfortable, but also to be aware of the impression it leaves, and weight it per situation.

I need a big jacket, hoodie or sweater to feel safe, no matter the weather. I also wear caps. I think I fly under the radar and or repel people and keep people from engaging with me.
But sometimes I put on the layers without thinking what I look like and can look disorganized and homeless. It’s not on purpose.
I think I want to work on a balance also as @anon21280033 said because I have a spouse and Society sees us together and makes judgements about me affects him.

Yes, for me this is important as well. Kiddo needs to walk around here too. I try to look more organized.
