I called a lawyer today. Never done that before. My wife keeps saying I can’t hear so I joined that class action lawsuit against 3M for the earplugs we used in Iraq.
I have to go to the VA and get a hearing test probably.
They took my case and said they keep 40% but if I don’t get anything I don’t have to pay anything. I guess I got nothing to lose.

I don’t know if they will let me come in for a hearing test. My next shrink appointment is on the phone. I had to go in for an emergency dental visit last month and they made me come and get a COVID test in the parking lot two days before the appointment.
They stuck that swab up my nose. That was very uncomfortable.
Yes. I nearly tossed my cookies during my last virus swab. It’s like they were trying to lobotomize me with a cotton tipped swab.
I have seen that commercial to and thought about calling in. 
Well I would call. Two lawyers called me today. I told them I wasn’t diagnosed with any hearing loss when I got out of the military and told them I don’t have tinnitus.
I told them my wife just keeps telling me I can’t hear and they eagerly took my case. They seemed eager to get clients for this. I told them I would go get my hearing checked and they said I didn’t even have to do that but told me it would help.
They’re looking for that 40%.
I’m sorry but “my wife keeps saying I can’t hear” is a very funny sentence to me

My great uncle was deaf in both ears. He told me once that when his wife started yelling at him he just turned his hearing aids off. Probably saved his marriage.

I watched this play out with my Aunt Martha and Uncle Jeffrey. Martha: “Hey Jeffrey, you wanna vacuum?” Jeffrey: “Huh?” Martha: “I said do you want some cake?” Jeffrey: “Sure!” It was funny to watch.
“Hey hubby you wanna take out the trash” said the wife. “Huh?” Said the hubby. “You want a steak?” Asked the wife. “Yes please.” Answered the hubby.

I’m sure you’re correct. The ear plug company will probably have to start putting a disclaimer on their products “Not guaranteed to stop hearing loss”. Something like that which I don’t know why they wouldn’t in the first place. I mean it’s common sense that ear plugs aren’t gonna work 100% in a war zone I mean come on.
I flew helicopters for 20 years. They are really loud. It was bound to happen. We flew our asses off in Iraq. Sometimes more than 100 hours a month.
But yes I may just have selective hearing. My wife likes to talk to me when we are watching tv. I can’t do two things at once.
I got an email saying from google I can get up to 12 bucks in a class action lawsuit. Not worth my time. I’ve had a few of those. The only one that was worth it was my former employer didn’t pay us the right amount so I got a couple hundred dollars, which was nice. No lawyer or anything.
Well yeah. I have gotten several of those small checks in the mail before. But this is the first time I have ever talked to a lawyer about one.
Did they say how much you might get?
