No, my real name takes five days to pronounce. Treebeard is just what the hobbits and wizards call me.
By writing this message the goblins know about you as well.
Anthropological work says that Chinese and American way of individuality can work differently. So while cultures may think “same”, individuality can differ in spectrum. I think Chinese people are more supportive of cooperative work, while Americans prefer individualistic way of living.
Which isn’t wrong, I find. Cultures have ways of handling things.
I don’t think that’s really what I’m trying to talk about, but I’m bored of this topic now and don’t want to explain. I feel certain things in my Asian friends that isn’t in white culture.
Uh, bashing that country is a great way to get this site cut off from people there who need it.
Im not sure why you are singling me out, I’m not the one who made a political thread saying how China is surpassing the US.
Pointing out all the ways China is violating the rights of its population is not “bashing”, and avoiding talking about those issues out of a fear of offending someone is not going to help anyone.
China has a billion people so in terms of numbers they would surpass the USA just because their population is like five times bigger, so it stands to reason their economy will be bigger eventually too.
I live in northern Europe, it is nice that all countries are succeeding, I wish America removes Russia’s sanctions, I like that China is advancing, I like America and Europe is succeeding.
@anon62973308 Have you been to Taiwan before? I read that Taiwan is US friendly and an ally but an enemy of China. Is this true?
Wasn’t it the EU that wanted those sanctions to begin with? I personally support them.
I’m afraid I don’t have a great understanding of the politics there, but they are their own country so I’m sure they will just do what they find most advantageous to them???
It was America who created sanctions first, the EU followed later, I do not see any point of having those sanctions. I would like to visit the modern Russia, maybe one day.
Maybe you’re right. I just feel that covertly invading a peaceful country, leading to the deaths of thousands of people, deserves some kind of response.
There are good YouTube videos what happened in the former USSR when it discontinued to exist in the beginning of the 1990s. In many newly independent countries the situation was chaotic and many conflicts happened.
It’s obvious that Russia instigated this conflict to seize a strategically important geographic area. It’s about current international politics, not past ones. Russia, like many other countries, has a long history of manipulating conflicts and international politics to their advantage. But outright invading another country to seize territory is different from providing military support to allied foreign groups.
I wish that in the future there will be more cooperation between Russia and America/the EU, but who remembers when the Berlin wall came down in 1989, nearly 30 years ago. I remember watching it on TV in the Upper peninsula of Michigan when I studied there. I wish that the world would be more peaceful than it is now.
I hope so, too. I hope something changes in Russia and they develop in a more humane and democratic direction.
I see that Russians want to have a strong leader, I do not know how it will be after the 2024 Presidential elections. The future will show what happens.
