The employee at the bookstore offered me 25$ for 100+ books. I sold 34 books to a friend afterwards for 112$. I had to accept it because I needed to get rid of them but still I feel completely ripped off.
Anyways

That’s a bummer.
What kind of books were they @Nomad?
Mostly spiritual and religious books I frenzily bought back when I was psychotic .
Ahh I see. I understand. I have quite a few of those kinds of books I need to sale off, too.
Most used book stores barely pay anything for used books anymore. I’ve been in the same situation as you, where I brought in boxes of books, only to get maybe $20 for the lot.
They typically offer more if you take store credit instead of cash but that would defeat the goal of trying to downsize your book collection.
This is so true. I might just donate my books to the library.
I think I’ll do that.give to the library.
I doubt they can pay much for books, they can only sell them for so much and to rent space, plus all the other business expenses, the profits are not great
