Changed classes again (For the final time)

I’m changing my career path to follow my passions of becoming a musician instead of selling out to an easier route so I will be taking the following classes

http://evergreen.edu/catalog/2016-17/programs/fillingthesilencenewsnumbersandpoetry-15050 (8 credits on saturdays)

and

http://evergreen.edu/catalog/2016-17/programs/parismuseevokingplaceinliteratureartmusicandmyth-14256 (4 credits during the week)

so I will be @ 12 credits total rather than 16, and 2 classes instead of 1, in the arts, poetry, etc… instead of sociology

What prompted this?

I showed my friend 18 songs and he told me like 37 times that they were amazing and I’ll be successful in whatever I decide to do…so I’m following my dreams rather than selling out to the system and being miserable the rest of my life. He told me to go for it.

As someone with an art degree I can’t really recommend that course of action, but I suppose some people have to actually make it big.

I’d say go with what interests you TTP

In my life I’ve done jobs which I didn’t like, and they didn’t last long.

Studied at college and Uni on courses which I didn’t like.

A mistake I think, better to follow your passion, isn’t that what life is about?

Yeah thanks @Prospero

and my mom and therapist are constantly telling me to go for it too. my mom even bought me a wristband 3 days ago that says “DREAM”

so dream i must

Normally the typically response would be to say get a degree in business or stem to get a career. However I got a stem degree and have trouble finding a job so who knows it could work.

I am also a musician. But I am studying something that I don’t want to. I hope you follow your dreams.

Wow that’s a big change! Good luck with it JJ! I’m glad your university can accommodate your dreams.

I have 4 credits for playing the oboe in the concert band 2 semesters of college. I wish I kept it up by playing in the community band after I met the requirement. My BA in sociologiogy has opened some doors for me rather than being utterly useless. Looking back and taking my life expierences into account. I would take the career path that would make you most happiest. If that is music then follow that dream.

I play the oboe too, that’s great to know there’s another oboe player out there. Not a big job market for it for sure. - lol.

Awesome ttp! Follow your dreams.

I studied nursing at uni for the sole reason that there were a lot of job opportunities, and it was starting to pay good money at the time that I went into the field. I had zero interest in nursing as a profession. I hated the job and it was stressful to the extreme degree. I couldn’t handle the level of stress with my sza illness. Over the years, the stress caught up with me and my illness was discovered by the nursing board authorities and they rescinded my license. If I had it to do all over again, I would never have chosen nursing as a profession.
