My psych offered me a case manager at 1st appt.
But at most recent appt she offered peer support worker.
I need the extra support. But don’t know if peer support is enough and it causes anxiety.
Plus can only go to group therapy at MH clinic if I have case manager. Which I need.
At next appt : Do I ask psych for case manager or try a peer support worker if she brings that up?

I used to have both. Why is it either or? They do different things for you

I tell my problems to my case manager and she offers support. Plus she does her regular case worker duties.

@LilyoftheValley
My psych made it seem like I could have one but not both. But I don’t know for sure if that was what she meant. I have to ask next appt. Just wanted to know which would be most helpful for me. Never had peer support before but have had case management

If you have to choose between the two, get a case manager. They’ll do more for you than peer support…

I agree with @WhiteRaven . If you have to choose, get a case manager. But they do different things so it’d be strange if you could only have one

Case managers are both educationally equipped and legally capable of doing far more for you than a peer support person.

Never dealt with a peer support person before but had experience with a case manager.
Case Managers can be quite helpful
