I’ve been on 1.5 for about a week to 2 weeks and feel nothing. My symptoms are out of control. I’m scared. Is that a symptom? Everything on tv is scaring me. My thoughts are very disorganized like usual. My thoughts arent making much sense. Maybe I’m disassociating too maybe. I feel like I have dementia… do I go to hospital and ask for an increase?

Yes I did. Then while inpatient I was having major chest pains & had to discharge AMA. It was ridiculous. They would not let me go to regular hospital and come back. It’s ok cause I see my clinic on Tuesday

I was only on it for a couple weeks. I started gaining weight fast so I quit it.
Certain APs may have a paradoxical effect on us and make our symptoms worse, other people on here have experienced that before. It sounds like this is not a good med for you.
@Anna when you say it can make symptoms worse, would I notice something wrong (in terms of making symptoms worse) if I started taking vraylar (new med) and kept taking my old med (zyprexa, which works without a problem) at the same time? Or would I only notice it when I was no longer taking the zyprexa and only taking vraylar?

Gotcha. I totally get it. Yeah I started packing on weight very fast in vraylar as well. I’m gonna get the risperdal consta shot on Tuesday. Since I legit forget to take my meds & also refuse some days. This way I have no choice! I have to take the orals for a few weeks and I think I can handle it. I wish it lasted a month or 3 like sustenna & trinza!
If it is truly making your symptoms worse, then you could notice it while still on the Zyprexa. If it only starts getting bad once off the Zyprexa I think it is possible that vraylar just isn’t as effective at managing your symptoms as Zyprexa was. Or your brain just hasn’t adjusted yet, sometimes it is normal to have a brief flare up in symptoms when switching meds.

Meds need up to a month to work and every med effects/side effects are different for everybody. I had addiction and hypersexuality issues from Abilify. Some here did have the same issues while others not. Only Risperdal really worked for me and I have severe negative symptoms. Another user here is on a higher dose than me and he doesn’t have any negatives, he’s even studying in medschool.
