Can you think of anything else besides these that we're not supposed to eat or take on psych meds?

grapefruit

cod liver oil supplements,

and pharmacist told me to avoid all oils supplements, that includes Omega 3!

I was reading somewhere that risperidone shoudnt be mixed with tea or cola.

wow. I’m on the sister, Invega, like a lot of us, wonder if that applies

oh no cola? i drink a glass of cola every day and i take risperdal

Same for me with tea i drink it almost everyday and sometimes mix them the website wasnt specific on why they shoudnt be mixed so…

maybe it wasn’t severe, but just the caffeine.

it’s been said our meds won’t work as well. idk.

ah i think that’s the oral solution… not sure what that is but it’s something you can mix with a drink and you shouldn’t do that with tea or cola.

My Dr said omega 3 are fine but said too much caffeine is bad for schizophrenics. Some supplements interact with meds. Smoking also interacts with some antipsychotics like Clozapine and Seroquel, reducing their effectiveness. Alcohol and weed should be avoided with meds too.

Census takers. At least not with fava beans.

it’s a real catch when you feel tired all the time, or don’t get enough sleep, and/or you’re trying to stay awake on a late shift job.

I believe some of those you can take, but only for two weeks,
and I think that applies to Everybody. could be wrong. I know I don’t buy ginseng tea anymore.

I know most of them are contraindicated because they have psychosis as a side effect.

they really should have something there where you buy them, some kind of laminated paper listing proper use, cuz they’re not like scripts, with the stickers on the bottles. and I don’t really think you need to take them 3X a day, that seems like they just want you to buy more.

some meds smoking can reduce the amount of meds in your system significantly like olanzapine, clozapine

It isn’t a common thing, but it has been known to happen. I stay away just to be safe.

I also think supplements need to be more heavily regulated. People get this mindset that supplements are healthy and meds are bad, but in many cases they’re the same thing. Just the supplement is not checked for quality control.

yeah. I still buy them in stores, and not online. But our health food store closed here, probably because of Amazon, and I did buy them there, for my kids and me. What about folic acid? I believe they gave it to me inpatient for 3 days while I was detoxing.

I drink yerba mate every week at least twice, no issues. It has caffeine.
