Can you recommend these schizophrenia films

I watched Fight Club last night. He has DID (dissociative identity disorder) or Multiple Personality Disorder not schizophrenia

This is a promo clip from My Sister’s Keeper - a good film and book - I liked it

A good movie since as stated by Nash, the Zero on the Riemann Zeta function corresponds to Singularities in Space-Time, thus the conventional number theory will break down in the face of Relativistic Exploration !

Ain’t that the truth !

An older movie about mental illness (though not schizophrenia) and therapy was ā€œOrdinary People.ā€ It had some good insights into what talk-therapy could do and also was very moving.

The Soloist is about a man who used to be a violinist in a nice school and then became schizophrenic and wandered the streets until a reporter finds him. The reporter encourages him to tell his story. He goes on into recovery and begins playing again. It’s really good and it’s based on real events/true story. The only things I didn’t like were the portrayal of him as violent when he was psychotic, but it was fairly accurate IMO portraying schizophrenia.

@BarbieBF…do you think its an accurate portrayal of schizophrenic psychosis?

I don’t remember much about The Fisher King, I watched it long ago. Was his schizophrenia triggered by the trauma he suffered? I wonder how accurate that is, can it be triggered by something like that? I don’t know.

I remember it being a very good movie. I have it, I should watch it again, maybe today.

It doesn’t seem to glamorize or downplay what he is experiencing. If anything it seems to center on him as a person as well as other relationships in the movie.

Yes it appears his schizophrenia was triggered by trauma. His was catatonic.

Is believed he had Acute intermittent porphyria rather the sz mainly by the fact his urine was blue during his psychotic episodes. Great movie though. Mainly to see how far mental illness treatments have come.

Daniel Craig aka James Bond played a man with schizophrenia in a film called ā€œSome Voicesā€. It was quite good.

Call me crazy, (2013) stars Jennifer Hudson, and Brittany Snow was a film of 5 short videos dealing with shcizophrenia and other related mental illnesses (like PTSD, and Bi-polar disorder). The only place I think you can get it right now is on Amazon Video, it was a made for TV movie. I thought it was pretty good

A second one, though it’s central idea is the woman is possessed and the priest is trying to help her get rid of the demons but she dies in the process…the argument on the prosecution’s side is that she suffered from mental illnesses both Schizophrenia and Epilepsy and tried to convict the priest of murdering her by telling her not to take medicine. The exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) – it’s based on the story of Anneliese Michel but Americanized a great deal., and a bit horrifying at times (considering it’s dealing with demons as well).
