I created a thread earlier because I was asking a question which I have never been able to fully answer. But I decided I was not really asking the right question. We are treated for a dopamine imbalance in our brains, but the effects of high levels of dopamine are pretty different from schizophrenia. They describe people with high dopamine levels as extroverted, often feeling intense pleasure from activities. But a lot of the symptoms don’t seem to fit and are often polar opposites of the experiences of someone with sz. Is there even a well recognized answer for the question?
One thing I’m hoping is that it is not purely genetic even in just some cases;I don’t know.

I heard something about how the dopamine imbalance causes our receptors to burn through the dopamine too quickly, becoming more immune to it, and that antipsychotics help restore a more balanced usage
