I’m having a hell of a hard time logging on to a lot of sites on the internet. I’m certain my password and email address are right, but I still get a notice telling me to check my email address and password. I try different passwords, and I am certain my email address is correct. Still, I get that infernal notice to check my email and password. When I try different passwords I keep getting this box with these letters and numbers in it that are usually not very clear. It is hard to tell if some of them are upper or lower case, or what letter they are. I gotta tell you, this makes me really, really mad. I’m starting to think someone is stalking me and blocking me. I’m relatively new to the internet and I could really use your help.
sounds weird, crimby. I’m sorry but I am no help. I am illiterate on the computer. I will say I would stick to my initial passwords and maybe it’s just a glitch in your computer. I doubt someone is causing what is happening to you. Hope it all works out.
The box with the numbers and letters that are not clear are called captchas and they’re there to block programs from logging on, and so prevent automated spam etc. They block programs by being so difficult to read only a human could do it.
The problem is that sometimes humans can’t read them either!! This sounds like what’s happening in your case.
Those unclear numbers and letters are for your own security. Just like some websites ask you to come up with “security questions and answers”.
There are so many ways for hackers and scammers to get @ you.
Your browser and search history is constantly being observed and sold to marketing firms and possibly undesirables.
Many game sites and software download sites will install tracking software on your pc making it easy to figure your demographic. Once they have your info and IP address it is very easy for them to find out your name and other private info. The elderly are the most targeted.
Internet explorer is a big nono. Go with firefox or Opera to browse the internet. Have a good antivirus. Change passwords every 3 months or so. Physically write down your passwords instead of keeping them saved on your browser…be careful. If you need any help configuring your pc I’d be happy to help.
I’ve been stalked over a thousand miles
