Can I live off of $100

We live on 100 a week.for groceries, but we qualify for food pantries so that’s our life.

My dad gave us a 6 cup rice cooker brand new when we moved down here from SD. We use it almost 3 times a week. Instant flavored potatoes for 50 cents a pouch feeds 3 per pouch, so we have to buy 2 pouches. Umm, sometimes butcher shops have like end bits that they can weight for like 4.99 per pound. I know we get like pork spareribs ends for stir fry that way, and 1 pound of that makes more than enough stir fry for 2 meals of 5 people.

Yeah you can cut up the meat from a discount rotisserie chicken and add some mayo and make sandwiches for a couple of days.

I used to do the frozen steakums on rolls with american cheese, but I’m not sure if that’s quite budget enough, the rolls tend to be pricy where I am.

Things like Pasta, rice and oatmeal last long and is inexpensive.
I usually go deal hunting with nearby stores, checking out their ad papers before I go in so I know which store has a deal on what.

My friend showed me a tasty, yet inexpensive meal the other day. You take white bread and fry it in rapeseed or sunflower oil while adding a little basil.
When those slices are done, you fry some kebab meat and add it to the toast.

It tastes sooo good and is super filling.

I second the rice and beans and when you spice it up it is a yummy meal. Your kids don’t like beans huh? Is it a texture thing or the nearly inevitable gastronomical disruption it tends to cause?

Brown rice and black beans with your favorite broth and spices thrown in together into the Instant Pot for 27 minutes on high pressure. Let sit for ten minutes after cooking then release the rest of the pressure. Yummy!

And old dietician told me it can take ten tries to make yourself get used to a new food. Best wishes.
