According to my social security statememt. It says social security income isnt a reliable source of income for my retirement age 65. It also says i can apply for retirement benefit programs… i dont know anything about retirement
Im just concered about tax getting involved. Something important.
Here’s more detailed information about SS benefits. I’m not sure if it answers your questions though
I’ve worked for over 40 years and collected SSDI. I’m 62 and when I retire they switch me over to social security retirement but I get the same amount I’m getting now.
I cant work. Im relying on ssi benefits. Ill be sharing my ssi benefits into my retirement. Im disabled.
So I’m 53 and on ssdi when I turn 62 I will be switching to ssi? Will I get a reduction in pay?
No, they switch you to social security retirement benefits but you keep getting the same amount you’re getting on SSDI.
Are you sure about that? I read once you get to be retirement age you switch from SSI to retirement income but I read somewhere else that you get SSI for life.
Hmmm thnks for sharing
Hey Natron! I’m 53 too. I think 1970 was a big tear for births.
I didn’t work much and I get a small amount for SSI. I get both SSI and SSDI. I have excellent insurance. My mom did all the paperwork, I was unable due to severe psychosis. I’ve never had to pay for hospitalizations but I got out of the habit. We are both in recovery? Yesterday pot was legalized here and I have that to resist one day at a time.
