I give myself little rewards after each chore. One reward for me is I love Coke Zero, but used to drink it too much. So now when I’m cleaning I take a few sips after each room or chore.
For me eating (properly) restrictions like cutting sugar was the start of getting into a better routine.
My kitchen used to be a mess. So as I changed my eating habits - I also started keeping my kitchen organized and clean. Preparing my own food, I would tidy / clean the kitchen as I cooked and after I ate.
Also started an app called stoic from the AppStore to keep track of my thoughts and mood. It has notifications for me to check in.
Other than that I still struggle with self care and most of the other stuff on your list.
But I am happy with my progress so far. Also eating right has helped me lose weight which was not a goal. But was a perk.
Well, I read you are more likely to accomplish goals if you write them down. I’m a firm believer in lists; I make a list each night of things that need to be done. I don’t need to do everything on the list but I try to do two or three things each day and then get the satisfaction of crossing them off. Today I had written down:
buy soda
deposit check
go to CVS for OTC COVID
tests
wash work shirts
I didn’t go CVS but I did the other things and crossed them off my list. I still have 5 things on my list but that’s OK. Some things I can put off and take my time doing. But making lists really helps me to get organized and to get things done.
Are your psychotic symptoms kept in control with vraylar and latuda? How much amisulpride were you on to keep your psychotic symptoms under control? And how long has it been since you last taken amisulpride?
i am asking these questions so i can better gauge your condition, originally my psychiatrist gave me tons of medicines too, to the extent that i feel a transient sadness and hopelessness and didn’t want to do anything literally, i read up tons of research articles and medicine journals and decided to craft my own treatment regime with just antipsychotic and probiotics currently.
No offense, but what makes you qualified to prescribe specific medications? Especially in his case when he’s had so many problems with so many different medications?
OK, but different medications affect people differently from one another. Do you know his whole history with medication and doctors? Sorry, I’m not trying to start a fight, I’m just flabbergasted that you’re telling him what medication to take. What works for you won’t necessarily work for someone else.
That’s why there are many studies on medicine even after they are out on the market, most medicines are designed to treat 1 ailment and has a portfolio of different side effects, the most common ones being fatigue and drowsiness
It’s really up to him how much he can tolerate really.
Please do not diagnose or tell people what drugs to take. You can share what has worked for YOU but you are not a doctor when it comes to what medications to take. The op is referring needing help with his day, not what meds he is on.
Honestly, my doctors, pharmacists and case manager were surprised that i know more about my illness than them. Not trying to start an argument but just trying to share my knowledge to help someone in need…
@Joker is a smart guy and I really hope he would take specific medication advice from anyone on this forum with a grain of salt. The problem is that your advice about medications could be dangerous to someone more easily influenced than @Joker. .Your heart may be in the right place and you’re trying to help but @anon55031185 is right about not telling people what medications to take.
Sorry for sharing my experience and knowledge with others, hope you guys have a great day, i know my life can’t be more enjoyable at the moment right now as you can tell from my seldom visit and replies on this forum.
Of cus me having access to ulotaront and karxt would make it better but what else can i wish for
idk what i can say that can help, I live alone and I have the same kind of problems and when I am trying to do something to keep on top of things I try and say to myself ‘it wont take long’ or ‘I’ll just do a little bit just now’ and then I do a little bit and its a little bit done and if you do a little bit enough times things will get done but maybe slowly,
I had a good day yesterday bc i washed and changed all my bed linen and shorts, socks & towels, dried them and them put my linen on my bed. i also had a shower and did some dishes
